Pennsylvania GOP Abandons Anti-Gay Measures

(Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) Pennsylvania Republicans divided on how far to go on a series of proposed anti-gay bills have decided in a closed door caucus meeting not to push any of them. Emerging from the meeting House GOP leaders said they still feel the governor overstepped his bounds when he extended domestic partner benefits to state workers last December.

The Ann Arbor City Council on a 10-1 vote Monday approved a resolution opposing a proposed state constitutional ban on same-sex marriages, saying it could have a "devastating effect" on some residents
