Gay couple file complaint after marriage license request denied

DURHAM -- When the two men first asked for a marriage license Monday, a woman behind the desk at Durham County Register of Deeds office produced the application. Then Richard Mullinax and Perry Pike showed their identification, which verified both of them were males. The applications were taken away.
