What If Kerry Wins. . .
It's too early to know, but not to dream

WASHINGTON, 3:15 p.m.—Early exit polls are suggesting a John Kerry victory may well be within sight. If he should win—and that's still a very, very big if—what would that mean for the United States and the world?

Even though the Democrats probably can’t win back Congress today, a Kerry presidency could stop the hemorrhaging in Washington.

**Neo-conservatives would be dead ducks. They would be swept out of the Pentagon and other bureaus of government. The American Enterprise Institute, where they all come from, would become a very lonely firebase Charlie for these hawks.

**The Christian right would be done, at least for the time being. Look for the Christian Right to hightail it out of Washington, its anti-gay, anti-choice agenda well out of play.
