Local Organizations Weigh In On Gay Marriage

Senate to Debate Marriage Amendment This week the Senate is debating a proposal to amend the Constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
The measure would serve to ban gay marriages.

Some people say it's morally right to define marriage this way, but others say it's discrimination against gay couples who want to get married.

Some Lowcountry churches support the amendment, but other groups, such as the Charleston chapter of the ACLU, say it's unnecessary and discriminatory.
