Students, community members and faculty of Marietta College stand and marched together in a rally to support gay marriage. With banners and signs expressing the point of view referring to themselves as "Gentle angry people" they called for a repeal of Ohio's defense of the Marriage Act that Gov. Taft signed into law.


NZ Bishops lobby MPs on gay marriage threat
The New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference has written to Members of Parliament regarding the country's proposed Civil Union Bill, which would give relationships other than marriage the same legal consequences as marriage.

Omaha's gay and lesbian police officers would become the first public employees in Nebraska to have benefits recognizing their domestic partners under a proposed city labor contract.
