Homosexual Couples Perform Ceremonies At State Capitol
Little Rock, AR - Gay rights activists across the nation and here in Little Rock are banding together to make sure politicians hear their voices this election year.
This weekend, a gay GOP organization is holding an annual convention in Palm Springs, California. The log cabin republicans are saying openly that they're having a problem supporting President Bush. With this year's election expected to be tight, these republicans say a second Bush term could hinge on gay and lesbian support. Here in Little Rock, another show of unity, as gay and lesbian couples hold a symbolic ceremony. This ceremony has been in the works for a few months, organized by a gay couple from Conway, who paved the way by taking part in a similar event back in February.

Fundamentalists come from Kansas to protest Araujo trial
Group plans to spread anti-gay message outside Hayward courthouse
By Ben Aguirre Jr., STAFF WRITER
HAYWARD -- Less than a week after opening statements began in the trial of three men charged with the murder of a Newark transgender teenager, members of a fundamentalist Baptist church say they will be picketing outside the county courthouse Monday.

Members of Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., said they would be spreading their message -- that homosexuality isn't the will of God -- in front of the Hayward Hall of Justice, where the three men are on trial.
