Smaller Group Of Gay Marriage Activists Gather Tuesday

CHICAGO -- A second day of protests at the county's marriage license bureau saw a much smaller number of same-sex marriage advocates on Tuesday morning demanding equal marriage rights.

Six protesters stood in front of a counter at the bureau, located in the basement of County Building, with small, paper signs reading, "Equal Marriage Now."

More protesters were not expected because Monday's protest was the main protest time, according to Andy Thayer, co-founder of Equal Marriage Now, who led the latest protest.

"There will be a meeting next Monday night where we will discuss how to continue pressuring (County Clerk) David Orr every step of the way," Thayer said.
