Franklin joins opposition to gay marriage ban

Opponents of a ban on same sex marriages in Georgia gained an ally this morning when Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, flanked at the Capitol by about 40 women from across Georgia, voiced her support for gay unions.

New Paltz mayor pushes Bloomberg for help

Jason West is becoming a mayor pain in the neck for Mike Bloomberg.
At yesterday's St. Patrick's Day parade in Woodside, the New Paltz mayor, who has made a quickie national reputation by performing 25 same-sex marriages, ran into the big-city mayor, who has been far less enthusiastic about the issue.

Hillary Firmly Opposes Gay Marriage
Hillary Clinton firmly opposes gay marriage, the New York Post's Fred Dicker reported Monday.
"Despite growing support for the controversial proposal and their party's platform plank endorsing it," the Post said, both New York senators, Democrats Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton, "oppose granting marriage rights to gays."
