Charges dismissed in gay marriage case
Albany, New York-AP -- A judge has dismissed charges against two New York ministers for marrying gay couples without a license.
The two Unitarian Universalist ministers were charged in March with conducting 13 marriages for same sex couples in the town of New Paltz (NOO'-pahlts).
Their attorney said the decision shoots down every allegation the government had put forward against the two women -- who appear to be the first clergy in the nation to be prosecuted for marrying gay couples.
