Parish diverts cash to "gay cure" charity, in protest at gay bishop
Ben Townley, Gay.com UK

A church in North London has diverted cash it would usually donate to central funds towards a charity that claims to "cure" lesbian and gay people, in protest at the appointment of Jeffrey John as Dean of St Albans.

According to a report in yesterday's Telegraph, the Holy Trinity Church in Barnet is planning to donate more than £5,000 to the True Freedom Trust, which claims to be able to stop sexual thoughts in lesbian and gay people.

The news follows reports last month that suggested churches in the St Albans diocese who were against the appointment of Canon John were planning to stop sending funds to the cathedral.
